Astigmatism? I have that in both eyes, but much worse in my left. That’s not quite how’d I’d describe it, but it sounds similar.

I am not a doctor, but it might be an occular migraine.  I have gotten them before- its just like a migraine aura without the headache, and happens when the blood vessels in your eyes constrict.  It should go away in 20 minutes, and caffeine or chocolate may help it go away sooner.  But if it lasts longer than that, or if you are in pain, you should call your doctor….  Feel better 🙂

I’m an ophthalmic technician, but no OD. Floaters are not a real big deal unless you have hundreds along with flashes of light or a veil feeling coming down, that could be a retinal detachment.  If you are having squiggly lines when looking straight ahead, like things that should be straight like a pencil or a light pole have a kink in it, you should go see an OD that could be a macular problem.  Auras are common with ocular headaches. If they are persistent you should also see your OD. It should not be astigmatism related. That deals with the shape of your cornea and distorted vision.  Hope that helps.

I’d love to know what you found out at the doc if you don’t care to share.

Were you worried it was a worm? I used to get those… I thought that I had worms in my eyes.

Glad to see everything went well at the doctors!  I get these occasionally as well, usually when I’m tired.
