The Grand has water views from both sides of the island, which is nice. And the beach is better at the Grand. However, La Toc is very nice, and a bit more unique than the Grand.

They have a stay at one, play at all program, so you can enjoy all of their resorts while you’re there.

We stayed at the Grande and liked the layout a lot better than the other two (Halcyon and Regency). Regency you have to take a bus to the different locations and at the Grande you can just walk. It’s very hilly at the Regency; however, my Fiance (now hubby) and I walked from one of the highest locations at the Regency down to the pool area (lowest location) and it didn’t really take that long. It may be more annoying walking up though.

As far as night life, I would really suggest the Regency. We went there to eat at one of their restaurants and they had a reggae band and there were a lot of people dancing and hanging out in the bar/lounge. At the Grande, it is always so mellow at night. No night life. EAch night we went to the little club or even walked by it there was NO one in it. Well, maybe like four people.

I didn’t really care for the food at the Grande; however, it had a really really great brunch offered everyday!!!  I heard the Regency had a yummy seafood place for lunch called Neptunes. They also have a higher end French restaurant that you have to make reservations for at Regency that was delicious (small portions).

The Pool was really cool at the Regency. I didn’t really care for the pool at the Grande. You couldn’t really see the ocean. I liked the Regency pool.

I was torn between the two, but I did enjoy our stay at the Grande! Hope you pick the right one for you guys!!! Have you chosen???

Remember that Sandals has a shuttle between the two resorts, so you’ll get to use both of them no matter which one you stay at. I don’t recommend the Halcyon.

We stayed at the Regency a few summers ago and it was wonderful.  I never felt like it took too long to get around because the pool was right outside our patio door and that’s where we spent most of our time… and it’s just a short walk from the pool to the ocean.  There are several good restaurants at the Regency including an AMAZING Japanese place, and a shuttle to the Grande if you want to use any of their services or restaurants.  As danalovely said above, nightlife at the Regency is a lot of fun, and there are games and activities throughout the day if you’re that way inclined.  The rooms at the Regency are great and the staff is amazingly kind- we were hungry when we arrived and even though the restaurant near our room was closed they made us a lunch!

Did you decide yet??

When we went we stayed at the Regency and loved it! We were just on vacation at the time (not engaged yet) and we got upgraded…We had a room overlooking the ocean and right by the pool.  It’s not terribly spread out unless you have a room thats far away…The Grand was bigger though.  I think either are fine.  You will save some money by going to the Regency and can take a free shuttle to the Grand if you choose.  I’d suggest staying away from the Halcyon it was boring unless you are looking for completely detached from everyone else.  Also the Regency was a little younger of a crowd when we went compared to the grand…Both are beautiful!! Let us know which one you pick!

I know this is an older post, but does anyone else have insight on this topic? I’m trying to decide between the two resorts myself.

I was at the Grande. It was really nice. Lots of pools and other daytime activities. The nightlife was sort of non-existant. Also, the food wasn’t awesome. But we still had an amazing time. WOuld recommend a boat excursion for the day. It was a real highlight

@shhh bee: Would you recommend the Lagoon Swim Up room? I like the idea of walking into the pool from my patio, but I don’t know if lack of privacy will be a problem.

We stayed at the Grande and absolutely loved it! We were so skeptical because we had read so many negative reviews. I don’t know how people find negative stuff about this place. We LOVED the beach, the food, the room, the service. We loved everything about our honeymoon. Highly recommend the helicopter transfer to and from the airport, the zipline excursion and the garth brooks boat excursion(amazing!!) The garth brooks is not through the hotel but you can book it on the beach daily. My husband also wakeboarded through the resort for free! We hiked the mountain on the side of the resort for 5 bucks….amazing views! There was always something to do at the resort-they put on great entertainment. We went to the Regency for dinner one night and I’m glad we did not stay there. The resort was kind of scattered-you had to take shuttles to get to different places on the resort-too far to walk. All in all we had an awesome honeymoon and we were so glad we chose Sandals Grande! Don’t listen to the negative reviews!!!

So I was here.  I stayed at the Grand, which is gorgeous and frankly has the whitest sand of all the 3 Sandals.  I went to Hallcyon (spelling) for dinner at the Pier (good food, really small resort, the pool was too tiny for my tastes) and then we also did 2 meals at La Toc (Regency).  The guests we hung out with on the zipline tour from La Toc said their room was small. We had a normal room at the Grand but had a nice balcony and it just seemed bigger than what the other people described of theirs at La Toc.  What I loved was the beach.  La Toc’s can’t compare.  Also, there is a state park right next to the Grand so it has a long beach to walk on.  The one at the others didn’t.  Now we had a pretty good budget and I looked all over for pricing.  I can’t believe that Sandals has virtually the same prices out there, EXCEPT when I contacted http://www.travelbyvip.com  (speak with Jennifer) she had discounts on flights and ONLY when I contacted them, did I find a better deal…PLUS we got a room upgrade and she set up our tours.  AND they didnt’ charge anything.  We are doing another Sandals (Antigua) and I wont look anywhere else.   Please message me if you have any other questions.  I can also send you my tripadvisor review!
