- Wedding: July 2012
My fiance and I are thinking about a destination wedding + honeymoon in St. Lucia in early July and are wondering if the weather should be a concern for us at that time. Does it typically rain all day, or is it shorter evening showers like FL often has? I know weather is unpredictable but I’d like to get a general idea of what the ‘norm’ is for early July. It doesn’t sound like hurricanes, esp in July, are a big concern. We’ve had someone tell us it is generally short showers in July, but more than one opinion is nice!
Also, is there a lot to do there? There seems to be a lot of things, but we’re planning a 14 day wedding/honeymoon and are wondering if we should split our time between St. Lucia and another nearby island (and if so, which one is best?) or stick to St. Lucia. We love the outdoors, snorkling, ruins/ancient buildings, volcanos, beautiful scenery, stuff like that so having interesting stuff to do together is important.
We were considering Belize as well, but it seems a tad more expensive and we’re a little worried about crime there. If we have to stick to group tours and activities most of the time we’re thinking it may be better as a later vacation then a honeymoon spot… because those Mayan ruins look awesome!
Any input from people who’ve been there would be awesome! Thanks so much!
