I have, it was one of my favourite ever holidays. The ocean is soo blue and clear. I honestly can’t remember the planes. I was too busy swimming, having cocktails and enjoying the sun!

I’ve been to St. Martin, but only on a cruise so I can’t really comment on the airport. I’m sure it’s safe though, it’s been there for years. As an aside, if you do end up going to St. Martin, if either you or your Fiance are Star Wars fans (or really just movie fans in general) you have to visit the Yoda Guy: http://netdwellers.com/mz/yodaguy/home.html

I’ve vacationed there! It’s beautiful! I can’t say I remember planes flying overhead though

@angieawesome:  DH and I went to that beach on our honeymoon! It was amazing and we got some great pictures! We didn’t get in the water because we were on an island tour, but we hung out on the beach for an hour and saw about 4-5 planes fly overhead. Most were smaller planes, but there was a delta airlines plane and AIR FRANCE which was amazing! There is a sign posted daily with all flight times so you know when to expect the big planes.

The only slightly “scary” thing I was was the wave created by the plane going over the water. Some people seemed caught off guard. Just know that there’s going to be large waves when the plane flys over and you’re fine.

The beach was very crowded when we went, so if you’re staying on the island get there early!

By The Way not too many people knew about this place on our cruise so we def. got a once in a lifetime experience it seems!

@angieawesome:  I’ve also been to this beach. Honestly it’s very cool. The planes landing and taking off were actually really exciting to watch.

I stayed at the Maho Beach resort right there under the flight path years ago and it was fun- it didn’t bother me but I was about 12 at the time. I think we’re going to Grand Case for our honeymoon and that has an airport right near it too! Does anyone know if that beach has any issues with the planes going over?

I’ve been to that beach as well, and it is very cool to see! I was a little scared at first, but soon got into the fun. It’s actually a little scarier to watch the planes take off as the exhaust from the engines sometimes blows right onto the beach pushing people towards the water even!
