We stayed at Sugar Bay.  It was nice.  I’m glad we didn’t do the all-inclusive, because there weren’t a ton of options.  The beach is nice, and you can actually snorkel right there.  There’s really no need to rent a car there, because cabs for two people are pretty cheap, and there are always a couple outside.  We liked eating in Red Hook, which is closer than Charlotte Amalie to the Sugar Bay Resort.  Duffy’s is a fun bar there, and we ate at the Japanese place (I’m forgetting the name)  Shopping is fun in Charlotte Amalie.  I would recommend the New Horizons snorkeling trip, which was awesome!

@mdglass:  I’ve only been to St. Thomas while enroute to neighboring, without-its-own-airport St. John.  However, I have known people who have stayed in St. Thomas and really enjoyed it. I would encourage you to take a day to visit St. John while you’re there. It’s just a short ferry ride away. 🙂
