Hello! I posted on a board a while ago about getting an alternate ring set. I’m already married but I just got a new engagement ring and I’m kinda at a loss as far as wedding bands go. It’s a weird ring. It’s 14k white gold, and is an art deco filagree from the ’20s, set w an oval aquamarine. My ring size is a 4.5-5, and this band is THIN. Like, a knife edge half millimeter thin on the bottom. I can’t get it sized down any more bc it will effect the integrity of the prongs, and I have one teeny white gold spacer as a band now. I’m really worried about this looking like costume jewelry, especially bc it’s a gemstone.
This thing is sliding ALL OVER, so I’m thinking of doing a stack of rings? Or maybe one, thicker, engraved white gold band. Help me! My hands are so tiny that I’m already struggling with this larger stone and I’m not sure what kind of bands will go w the filagree on the sides of the stone.
If you see my other posts there is a pic of the filagree close up, but it’s your typical high set filagree ring. I am unsure of carat weight but the oval is 11.5×10. A weird size.
Here it is with just the band. I am not a fan, but does it look okay like this?
As far as stacks, I have already tried a look like what I did here with a diamond band I had and a berricle band, along with the 1mm wedding band. Should I just keep this and call it a day? What about a chevron or curved band?
I’m not loving either of these looks that I have tried, and was thinking of adding something like these, in just white gold, to hold everything up. Too many designs? Do the diamonds look weird? Should I just get one thick band to offset the ridiculous thinness of the e ring? Omg help!
Sorry these pics are big, and I know I’ve been slapping my ring everywhere on this board, I’m just kind of unsure – I’ve never worn a ring like this on the daily, and my husband wants me to wear it. There are lots of options and I am really glad I didn’t find this board when I was engaged or I would have NEVER decided on something, lol!
