aweir21 :  What exactly are you looking for? Wineries and breweries to donate free booze? The likelihood of that happening is about as good as 0

Ive heard of this. It’s apparantly a thing in the midwest? I’m from California so I don’t have any suggestions bee  I’d put a regional reference in there so those from the area respond as it’s not a thing in the east or west of the US.

A quick google search tells me that stag and doe donations are for the bride and groom to raffle off during the parties?

It depends on where you are located, we don’t do the raffles where I am from. In other places, the stag and doe parties are used as fundraisers for the wedding.

I’ve actually seen the fundraising thing on the bee before, it definitely depends on where you are from

I *believe* this is a situation of a wedding fundraiser. OP is looking for donations to raffle/auction off to raise money for their wedding.

sweatergal007 :  I’m a midwest bee and any winery and brewery would laugh me off the phone if I asked for a donation. Giving away free booze is usually reserved for raising money for worthy causes, not someone’s wedding or party. I know Lagunitas hosts events for non-profits and such.

Anyways OP, I’d probably put this on a more local board for your area so you get more targeted replies!

If this is the sort of thing that’s common in your area, I think you’d get better answers asking the people in your social circle instead of posting on Weddingbee- stag and does are VERY regional and nearly unheard of (and would be considered rude/tacky) outside of the areas where they are common.

You might also get better results posting on a subboard here for your specific area.

I would suggest posting on the subreddit for your city if you are on reddit! You’ll get much better advice.

aweir21 :  I have seen many people post on here stating they have got donations from these kinds of places was just wondering which ones.

Maybe they donate their products/service for charitable events, I seriously doubt a company is going to donate for your wedding, no matter where in the country you are.

aweir21 :  I was the one who brought up the words rude/tacky, I apologize, I think you took it in a different way than I intended. I mean to shed some light on how they’d be seen in areas where they are uncommon, and to explain why you might be getting certain responses. That’s why I suggested asking around your area since they obviously AREN’T seen as rude/tacky there.

aweir21 :  It is my understanding that the bride and groom throw the event and their friends and family donate to their wedding, not that random companies donate to the wedding.  I find it hard to believe a profitable company would donate their product to raise money for a strangers wedding, rather than a charity event.

If you have seen “so many” posts about this why have you made a new one?
