Hi all…I know stags are usually synonymous with bachelor parties, but in Canada (southern Ontario) it seems to be more of a funraising type gig rather than a drunken stripper fest.
I do have a question to you guys though…my guy has been to like 3-4 stags and in each he claims that there is absolutely nothing that goes on in terms of naked ladies, strippers, etc. He says there’s alcohol, poker, cigar smoking, gambling, and hostesses to sell raffle tickets for prizes to generate money for the groom. Does any of this sound familiar?
I thought it would be a nice gesture to offer to be a hostess at these events because why pay $300 for a stranger to sell tix when you can have a friend do it for free, but every single time I am rebuffed and the reason is that my presence will make people uncomfortable. (Not just me in particular, but any family or friend) This is starting to make me suspicious….if nothing is going on then wtf is the problem? The groom’s older fathers and uncles attend these stags too…but I’m starting to get uneasy about it….in your experience, are these things full of naked ladies or something? Why would having a family member there make you uncomfortable? I’ve always made it clear to my guy from the get go that any naked ladies/porn/etc stuff is a deal breaker for me and I’m starting to wonder if maybe I am being lied to. What do you all think? And yes, I am well aware that not all women share my views on nudity/porn/etc and I thank you not to judge.
The bottom line is, I trust what my guys says…but I guess I find the extreme reluctance of these guys to have any family/friends who are girls there (to help as a hostess) is highly suspect. What would you all think?
