Good morning fellow Bees,
I’m a little nervous: I sent my Save-the-Dates out on Monday night, so they should have been picked up yesterday (Tuesday the 24th) at about 1:00pm. I’m nervous because on January 22, last Sunday, there was a postage price increase from 44 cents to 45 cents. I’m thinking there is a grace period, but I am worried that all of our Save-The-Date Cards (haha ew) will be sent back to us.
Does anyone know any info about this? Should I be worried?
I’ll be sure to post again if I find anything out.

@micahg: i always use forever stamps because of this issue. I dont know what will happen in your situation. Good luck 😀

I don’t know what will happen. We rushed to get our announcements out because of this. But we made sure we handed them to them at the post office on Saturday to make sure.
I hope they’ll be ok and get there!

@micahg: did you use forever stamps? I can’t find anything but forever stamps for normal 1st class postage anymore. If they were just 44 cent stamps, they may get returned. I’ve never heard of a grace period.

…Thanks for the luck! I didn’t use forever stamps — I had no idea about the pricing increase, but I think I might have slipped by. Not one has been returned as of yet! I wish I had thought to use the forever stamps 😛

I totally forgot to check this before I bought our post card stamps. So.. looks like a second, 3c stamp is in the cards for us.

Stamps went up 1 cent… 1 cent! Which means, if you send out $200 invites and $200 STD’s you will be spending $4 more dollars. That is it. I understand it sucks to have to pay more for anything, especially stamps, but I don’t understand why everybody seems to be freaking out to me. I am not trying to be mean. I promise. I just don’t understand the major freak out that seems to be happening everywhere. Can somebody please explain it to me?

@Mrs Hedgehog: lol, I’m not freaking out, I just did a total fail and bought the wrong stamp amount.
I buy forever stamps, but that’s not an option for postcard postage.

I don’t think their is a grace period for postage, but fingers crossed! I made sure to mail mine out on Friday with my 44 cent stamps.

@Mrs Hedgehog: I don’t think it is necessiarly the cost and it doesn’t matter if you have forever stamps. But if you didn’t and got the old 44 cent stamps it can be a hassel to get the extra 1 cent stamp. Some brides work so hard on their invites, they want the stamps to look nice too.
