I used just a regular craftstore ink- as long as you let it dry thouroughly it will not dry.

so sorry… I meant ot will not smudge if you let it dry completely.  I hate when my fingers don’t do what my mind tells them to 🙂

Oooh!! You should show us your results when you’re done! See approximately how long it takes to dry and whatnot. Best of luck!

The only stamping ink I could get to dry at all was Tsukineko brand "Brilliance Archival Pigment Ink Pad" and their "StazOn Solvent Ink Pad."  AND even with these, we had to let the stardream envelopes with our return address stamp on them dry for 24 hours and then a few seconds more each with a hair dryer (watch out you don’t seal the envelopes doing that!).

At least printing the paper invites was fine, just make sure you are using a high-end Laser printer, not an inkjet or flimsier laser printer.  We wound up using clear mailing labels for the invitees’ addresses on the envelopes–we had wanted to print directly on the envelopes in a fancy font, but got worried that the exterior envelopes would smear if any rain got on them.

Everyone loved our invites!

I had this problem also, not to long ago.  I found the best solution was to hit them with an embossing gun for a couple of seconds to seal the ink in.  It worked like a charm!  Of course we ended up embossing all the envelopes anyways, and they turned out great.  If you don’t have an embossing gun, maybe try a hair dryer, which should give you the same effect, just a little windier!  The embossing ensures that if they get rained on, the ink won’t smudge!

I can send you some pictures if you need inspiration!
