There’s also the option of getting just a few fancy wedding stamps for those of your guests that would appreciate them, and then using regular stamps for the rest.

@highwire: This exactly!  Could you just get a couple?

I didn’t spend extra money on stamps, but I did go to a few mailbox/post offices to see if I could find something that fit our color scheme.

Meh. Stamps are the last thing anyone will remember in 10 years.

Go with the regular stamps, save the money for your life together.  I got the King and Queen that said love and there are other cute ones too.  The personalized stamps look cute but think of it this way, it might all the effort and it might end up in the trash anyway.

Eh, I really wouldn’t put extra money in here because I wouldn’t think any less of you if your invitation came with a liberty bell on it.  Ours didn’t fit our theme at all but I just couldn’t resist getting the Adopt a Shelter Pet stamps.  They are so cuuute.  They didn’t cost any extra, I wouldn’t have got them if they did.

Stick with the regular stamps and save yourself a couple of bucks.  I’m sure you can find a better way to spend the money.

I think there is a wedding-like regular stamp. Maybe see if you can just get one with an image that works for you. I don’t know if they just have those at the post office or if you have to order them, though.

Custom stamps are for those crazy $17,000 dress brides on SYTTD.  Though it would be a cute touch it is not worth it to pay double for an already hefty envelope.  I looked into it too and nixed it deciding an extra meal station would be better. 🙂

I got the wedding ring stamps and they looked great.  I’d go to the post office ahead of time though and make sure they have them.  That also lets you put the stamps on at home, so you don’t need to worry about it there.  As for the personal ones – I think they’re unnecessary, but if getting 5-6 of them to send to your FI’s parents/grandparents will make your life easier, then you’re only wasting about $3, which isn’t a huge deal.  So I’d look into it.
