Pollywog: Oh absolutely haha and no worries I am not a mean bee. You are absolutely right. I am just one of those hyper nervous travellers. In my head everyone will know how precious it is to me and mug me lol. Irrational, yes? But could I live with myself if something happened to it, No.

missjz: you’re welcome! 🙂 there are a lof of other options too of course but i wanted a legit CHEAP ring and it’s still pretty!

missjz: I would honestly just get a plain Stainless Steel band off of Amazon if you’re worried about being in a rough area. Stainless Steel shouldn’t tarnish and they’re very cheap. You can even get a stainless steel ring with CZs in it.
Lots of people recommend Berricle but it’d be more than I’d want to spend on a CZ ring. I don’t need a 50$ CZ stand-in set. At that point, I’d rather spend more money and get a gemstone ring of some sort or a second hand ring.

Older (antique/vintage) rings are often smaller – try ebay . I have passed over rings I loved because I am a 6/7 and they were 4or under (too far off to size safely) so maybe u will see something that strikes you 🙂 Good luck!

I’ve only been away overseas once since getting married but I took both rings and sometimes wore both, other times just band and others neither (eg pool, beach eyc). I also put them in a safe. Safer in a safe overseas with me than at home in a jewellery box in my opinion.
Personally I wouldn’t wear a stand in ring as it wouldn’t mean anything to me if they aren’t THE rings so i’d just rather go without 🙂

Pollywog: that’s a fantastic option. 🙂 I went much smaller to be less blingy and if I feel really unsafe, it’s a small stone to turn into my palm.
To be honest, my ring is so small I don’t think anyone sees it but me and Fiance. He loves my stand-in.

I just went to Target and bought a ring to wear for when I had my ring sent in to get resized (and will for when I get it soldered), and plan to wear it on our honeynoon.
However, I may check out that one site PP mention for something fancier.

I’m doing the same thing! I’m currently looking at overstock, berricle and etsy for rings. I don’t want to wear my ring on the beach because I do go swimming in the ocean nor deep sea fishing. I’m afraid I’ll loose it then.
Im in buying a stand in ring because I can’t bare not wearing a ring on my finger. I’ve always worn rings and necklaces. Since I’ve lost weight all my old rings are too loose (i wear spacers on them to make them fit). They all have sentimental value as well so I’d be crushed if I lost them because they were too loose.
