I bought this ring from QVC to wear to the gym, out in the yard etc.  I love my “real” ring much more, but got this one to reduce the chance of damaging the real deal.

My stand in ring is a pathetic, teeny, plain rose gold band. I wore it to clinicals, just so I’d have something on my finger stating I was married. After hitting my hand on the x-ray table and knocking my diamond loose, I’d never go back to wearing my real ring there, or anywhere else dangerous.

Before that, I tried buying a CZ stand in from Claires, but stones fell out already. Here’s a poor pic.

If I bought a stand in, I’d go for a plain white gold or silver band. Some here have some very pretty CZ replicas, but that’s just not me. If I wore a replica, I’d always want to be wearing my real ering instead. Sorry, I know that’s not helpful. Just something to consider 🙂

@ChocolateLime:  You should probably look to insure it properly. Sounds like all you have is a warranty. That would give you a much better piece of mind.

There’s lots of threads here on ring insurance. I did a quick quote and it would cost around $200 per year to insure a ring over $20K… so it’s a really good deal: https://www.perfectcircleinsurance.com/ – I am considering using them when I get my ring.

I see nothing wrong w. wearing a stand-in ring for yucky tasks like gardening, though!

I did, it was a cheapo ring but I only wore it to places like the beach…the rest of the time I just took my engagement ring off.  Now that I’m married, I can just wear my band since it’s plain, and not worry about my engagement ring!

Me! I just got it Saturday. My fi got me a beautiful pearl engagement ring, the one I wanted. Silly me didn’t know how delicate pearls are, and to add on I’ve gained weight recently and it’s tough to get the ring on and off. Since I have to take it off when I shower/ do my hair and makeup/ sleep ext, I figured I would get a cheapy stand in until we get my actual ring set. Plus I didn’t feel comfortable not wearing a ring to work.

I bought a 2mm titanium band to wear when I don’t want to wear my diamond ring. Here is a picture of it with my e-ring.

I got a stand in from jtv.com, I wear it if I go swimming or to the beach or will be outdoors all day.
