I guess my situation kind of applies? I have a “pre-engagement” ring, which is an aquamarine. We’re getting a moissanite in a few years.

I bought one like this for the beach this summer. I wear a white gold 4 prong solitare e-ring with a plain wedding band daily.

@musician32992:  your ring is gorgeous! I have a feeling you won’t want to ever give that up in a few years!

@LovelyLaura:  My wedding band from mine and my hubby’s civil wedding serves as my stand in ring. I love how sparkly the little diamonds are. We got lucky. Very similar to the one you have. I love it. I can’t wait to receive my long awaited ering to match it. Excuse my terrible hands.

I didn’t purchase my stand-in rings prior to receiving my actual e-ring and wedding band but, rather, after.  I wanted rings that were similar in appearance to my rings so that, if I didn’t want to wear my actual rings for certain activities or on certain trips, I would have pretty rings that I wouldn’t need to worry about becoming lost, stolen, or damaged.

Below is a pic (please ignore the bluish lighting — not sure what happened with that) showing my actual rings on my ring finger and my stand-in rings on my pinky.  (Note:  I actually owned the very thin, faux anniversary band prior to receiving my actual, similar-sized anniversary band, but I didn’t wear it as such with my wedding set. Instead, I wore it with one of my sapphire rings on my right  hand for awhile.)
