@eagle:  Is it only at the higher speeds? Or if there’s really thick batter?

Mine does if I’m making something thick like frosting.

Do you lock it once you’ve put the beater into the bowl? I have used my mom’s many, many times and the only times that it’s swayed or shaked is when I forgot to lock it.

i think i recall reading about screwing a bolt somewhere if you find the blade touching the bottom of the bowl… its been a while

otherwise what are you mixing at high speeds?  cookie batter is extra work for my KA

Did you look and see if the height setting is correct? There should be instructions for adjusting the height of the blade/paddle in relation to the bowl, it’s pretty easy. Mine doesn’t “dance” while in use, and it’s pretty old and was bought refurbished.

there should also be customer service info in your manual if that doesn’t work.

It’s definitely a height issue – something that needs to be adjusted every once in a while.  You can google instructions for adjustment, but I saw a great set of instructions for this on Apartment Living’s Kitchn blog recently, so you may want to start there.  Good luck!

No, mine totally does that too and it can’t be a height thing because it doesn’t get everything at the bottom of the bowl…

I had this problem and it was my beater blade hitting the bowl. You just adjust the the flat head screw until it has some clearance.
