We are having our reception in a large tent. Our centerpieces are large branches with a flower base. The tent is huge and we are lining it with plain white fabric, but feel as if it needs another element. I was just curious if you guys think these star lanterns could be hung and look tasteful? Or are too small at 9.5″ H and maybe even silly?
We were thinking about 8 of them, all hung at random heights

I love them. You might use the battery operated candles for them. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby at a half off sale and they were really reasonable.

they are definitely tasteful, and quite cute! maybe think about going for 12? if they are too spread out it may not have the effect you want in such a big tent. perhaps cluster them around the dance floor or head table area instead? btw everything looks gorgeous!

I love them but I do think that they are a little small to have 8 stand on their own. As previously mentioned, I’d reserve them for the entry way or hanging over specific areas (your table, dance floor, etc) You can also try making your own (maybe w/ vellum to get that glass effect) following this video tutorial:
but I’d scale it up to make bigger ones. They would make more of an impact with less.

love the idea of clustering them around the dance floor or entrance! my tent guy is telling me though that once the tent is draped (which is so much money, so im almost hoping to hanging these lanterns instead without it?) there are only certain places that anything can be hung (boooo… :-/) i was hoping to hang them from the lowest four wires you can see in the pic.
noted on doing 12!
