Star dust girl  could sprinkle stars- get them at craft and card shops

star shaped paper lanterns

The seating cards could have the shape of the constellation formed out of crystals  or tiny stick-on stars under each guest’s name ( or on the inside if a double fold card used)

We didn’t have a star-themed wedding…  but the night we met I saw a shooting star over his head, within minutes of our introductions…  so stars were mentioned in my vows.

I’ve also purchased a “Name Your Own Star” thing online to give him for our first anniversary – to name it after us/our wedding date, of course!  Perhaps that would be a fun gift for your groom or wedding party?

@a5hi3y: I was thinking about the seating card idea a bit more this morning. If I were to do that, I would make stencils of the various constellations, lay the stencil on the card, apply glue to the cut out shape of the constellation that add the stars or glitter. It could be incredibly time-consuming to do them individually.

I think that making the shape of the constellation with stars is what makes them special.

Sometimes if we try to make things too easy and fast, we lose that.

How may guests are you having? Would it really take that long to do?

Your idea of a star puncher would certainly work. Placing gold or silver behind the punched out navy(whichever goes better with your color scheme) , then writing the names of the guests and the constellation with a silver or gold pen would be pretty.

You could either do business card size paper with all the writing on the one side, or do folded cards with the person’s name on the front and the punched out stars and the constellation on the inside.

To display them, what about a large board covered in navy fabric and with silver or gold decoration copied from this stationery. You could get the rhinestone star and streamer shape of crystals from a  craft or fabric store.

or you could do something like this with star shaped lollipops available at

Candy Escort Cards

or these from http://blog.sweetservices.com/sweetscandyblog/lollipops/

You could do the dark river rock as a cover for a styrofoam base and replace the moss accents with something celestial.

@a5hi3y: That’s wonderful, it looks like a painted teacup pattern almost!
