I love that idea! My Fiance and I are both huge geeks and we’re thinking of doing something similar.

Fiance walks around the house humming or whistling the Imperial March all the time! I thought about having it played as a surprise to him when I walked down the aisle, but then I thought again. Instead, it’s going to be our reception entrance song, too.

As far as the music you’re thinking of for the ceremony, I don’t know the music, so I can’t give an opinion. Sorry! I’ll ask Fiance when he gets home and I’ll let you know what he says.

My Fiance is a huge Star Wars fan.  HUGE.  He has light sabers……. like multiple not just one.  So anyway we are def. going to use Star Wars for our reception entrance and then I think we’re going to use Leia’s theme for some part of the ceremony.  I think it’s a fun way to personalize it!

I went to a wedding where the bridal party and the newlyweds were introduced via the star wars theme. I don’t think the guests expected it and the response was positive. If it is what you want to do go for it.

What about the throne room music? You know when Luke, Han, and Chewie get their medals? Might be good for a recessional.

I totally get it – I am planning on surprising him with the USC fight song – or that other one – for when we leave the church.  I mean it shouldn’t be too big a surprise as our colors are red and gold and we are getting married at USC but that is his part of the wedding and that is him and slowly becoming us.

I say do what makes the wedding you!!

And don’t forget to post pictures!

I know a couple that used Star Wars music all throughout their wedding and reception. Their priest even worked in a Lord of the Rings reference or too ("The Precious…"). It was great and totally fit their personalities.

Personalize your wedding and make it yours. Chances are the people that recognize the music will appreciate your creativity and the ones that don’t recognize it won’t think anything of it.

I agree with DCAnna. People who know it will love it and people who don’t know it won’t think anything of it.
I definitely want to use the Imperial March somewhere b/c Fiance & I both love Star Wars. Maybe my Mom can enter the reception to the Imperial March! LOL (She’s a Star Wars fan too!!)

I think that is Great! One of my best friends used that when they were leaving the church.  They are both really into Star Wars and it was perfect for them.  You have to remember that this is your day! Whatever you want…. whatever is special to you!!!! It will definately bring up the energy leave in the reception, a good way to kick the party off.

If it best fits you and your Fiance, I say go for it!  I think it’ll be a nice touch if it portrays you both.  It’ll make your wedding stand out too !

OMG 🙂  Please don’t tell my Fiance about this!  He would die!  He’s a HUGH Star Wars fan.  Like a ton of those silly "action" figures that are in mint condition…IN THE DARN BOXES!  He made me watch Jedi this weekend and he quoted almost the whole thing!  Haha, it’s SUCH a cute idea…maybe I’ll surprise him.

That’s a great idea! Now I’m thinking of using the "Still Alive" theme from Portal 🙂

Oh, man… this thread just helped us decide the song that Fiance will enter the ceremony to–"The Throne Room" (the one that plays during the end credits on A New Hope).  I told him we could include it, so long as I wasn’t at all involved!  So he can enter to Star Wars, and who knows what I will walk up to.
