I hate to say the prongs look really off.  Something about the band (almost looks like it’s not even) but that may just be because what I see in the prongs.  I’m sorry 😬

To me in the first picture, it looks like the moissanite is crooked on the band. Not so much in the other pics though. I love it. What do you think is off?

In the first pic, the one in the ring box, the band looks a bit bent on the left side. The prongs are definitely crooked. I also think that the stone might be tilted in the head. So sorry. Don’t let them send it until those things are fixed. It’s good they sent a pic of it on her hand instead of a moving video because it might have been harder to spot those things. I’m sure they will fix everything.

I can’t edit my comment when on my phone. Just wanted to say, look carefully at the first pic and you will see the stone is slightly leaning to the left. It’s not as noticeable in the other pics but if you imagine just slightly leaning it to the right would improve the look. Since the head is soldered to the shank, I don’t think it’s the bent band giving the illusion of a tilted stone.

Mona posted on IG a video and pics of your ring. I don’t know if she’s the one you’re working with but here’s a link:

hm2012 :  I think it is most likely the stone sitting crooked in the setting.  The ACC’s seem harder to set because of the faceting.  If the prongs are not laying in the same position at all 4 points and the stone is not cut completely symmetrical, the stone will sit slightly off.  I would do what somethingaboutdifferent suggested.    I know you can’t talk to them until tonight but if they can sit the stone face down on it’s head and take a picture and also with it laying flat on a table.  It is hard to really tell when it is on someone’s hand or in a ring box because that is not a flat surface. It becomes much more obvious when laying on a flat surface and a lot easier to prove and get corrected before they mail it.

The thin band is really pretty with the size of the stone.  What size is the Elongated OMC?

I recevied my ring today. I do feel like mine looks slightly wonky as well. In hindsight, I should’ve stuck with the traditional measurement of 8×7 instead of copying the August Vintage stone dimensions. With Tianyu now selling lab grown diamonds I may just give those a go.

It’s either slightly rotated or the cut is slightly off. One side appears slightly curvier than the other while the other side is more straight. It looked fine in the video she sent, but I probably just missed the slight wonkiness. I had more rings planned but I think I’m going to just end my journey here lolhm2012 :

Excuse the large photos but I just got my 10.5×9.5 elongated old mine cushion and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I’ve never seen a moissanite in person so I have nothing to compare it to but I think it’s cut really well. I can’t wait to see it set!
