sydneybee4 :  I would really like to say it looks better but it looks much the same.  It has a look of dried Elmer’s glue or exploded plastic. It doesn’t look very realistic in real life.  I wish I could say it was different because I really wanted a yellow stone too. There is a regular gem cutter on Reddit that I got in contact with and he is cutting me a light soft yellow tourmaline for less than $200 so I think at this point I would rather have a natural gemstone than a yellow moissanite.

Here is the link for the champagne moissy from SG.  It has their video at the top and the ACC and a Moval that she had custom cut towards the bottom.  They look like K-N diamond’s instead of a fancy yellow cut though.

angelwaye :  thanks for the info. At this stage then I might give Provence a crack … theirs is lighter than a light fancy yellow colour which I am okay with really just hopefully won’t have that look you’re talking about.

For reference, this is a pic I took of the tianyu yellow moissanite video. Do you see a difference at all?

sydneybee4 :  they all look the same to me but who knows, maybe you will like it. I think Tianyu does a nicer yellow lab sapphire that looks better than the moissanite at least in pics.

justjeaux :  hey bee! Did you see much difference between the crushed ice and the mixed cut? Which sales rep did you work with? I’ve been chatting to Demi but she doesn’t seem to fully understand what I mean by mix cut. Thanks 🙂

hm2012 :  It looks great! Very unexpected in the world of go big or go home. Please remind me, is this a part of a greater stack that you’ve put together?

Hi all, new to the group and Starsgems. Seeking an honest opinion of wether or not Sg would be able to pull my inspiration rings off. The center stone will be a 2 ct asscher cut but I’m hoping they can cut it Krupp style.

Theres another ring im looking at that I know they can do for sure. But I love this one and would like to see it executed well. Any ideas would be great! Thanks In Advance

busybee80 :  to be honest – I would purchase the stone from them and have a jeweler make this for you. If you ask them if they can make this, they will say yes. You will get a ring that looks kind of like this but even most US jewelers have a hard time pulling off the refinement that comes with a CVB design.

At the minimum, I would get it made in platinum. Maybe have a halo in lab diamond rounds only. Those small baguettes in the halo would be moissanite and they are a completely flat cut with very little sparkle. Once you receive the ring, you could have a jeweler do the fine miligrain, which is typically done by hand and not terribly expensive. Machine stamped miligrain from SG will not give you the refined look of this setting.

I just got my ring back yesterday. I saved the money by getting a stone from SG and then had the setting made here.

@angelwaye thank you for your solid advice. It’s what I was suspicious of and needed to hear. My second choice I’ve seen them pull off but I’m wondering if I can borrow from that person’s cad? I know she’s posted it here before

Your ring is stunning!
