I’m sorry about the PCOS diagnosis πŸ™ I have PCOS too.  I do ovulate, it’s just really late (CD28 this cycle), but I’ve taken Clomid before.  It didn’t work (we’ve moved to Femara), but the Clomid wasn’t too bad!

I did get hot flashes and really bad headaches.  The headaches started around day 3 of the pills, and would last until day 6 or 7.  Don’t take motrin or ibuprofen for it though!  You don’t want to take those before O.  Tylenol is OK though! Drinking lots of water helps too. Otherwise, just be gentle on yourself through this!  I hope you only have to do it once and you’ll get a BFP!

PCOS here too, no ovulating on my own. First cycle (Clomid and Femara), I did ovulate! Second cycle, didn’t work, so my aggressive doctor has put my straight on injections lol. Still no BFP for me, so no BFP from Clomid but I think there’s a lot of bees here that have had success with it! Good luck πŸ™‚

I have PCOS too and only ovulate sometimes on my own.  I’m in the TWW of my second Clomid cycle (taking 50 mg CD3-8).  No success yet, but still holding out hope.

I got the hot flashes and night sweats big time this cycle.  The first cycle, not so much, but I did get really bad ringing in my ears starting after the 2nd dose of Clomid last month.  I don’t think that’s a common side effect, but BOY was it annoying!  It finally faded away when I got my period and hasn’t come back (knock on wood).  I also had pretty intense abdominal pain for about 5 days around ovulation the first cycle, but way less this cycle.  Hopefully it’ll be easier on you and will work on the first try!  Good luck!

soontobemrsKB92615:  oh!  You should also know that it most likely will lengthen your LP.  Mine went from 12/13 days to 15/16 days.  It was not a fun surprise to be late and still get BFN’s and AF showing up later than normal.  And even now that I’ve had 2 cycles off, it’s still holding out around 14/15 days.

soontobemrsKB92615:  My understanding that (for me at least – what my Dr said) was the Femara was more for stimulating follicle growth for me (cuz of course I don’t want to grow them on my own either! haha). Last cycle I had a trigger shot too – did make me ovulate but BFN. This cycle (Femara + injections for follicle growth), I actually ended up ovulating on my own! Haha I was so excited. So now we wait πŸ™‚ Good Luck!!!

soontobemrsKB92615:  haha what a thing to say eh? But yeah, yay for self-ovulation!!!! πŸ˜›

You’re very right, hopefully it just needed a swift kick (and some meds!). I’ve heard that too, with the whole hormone reset etc… let’s hope we get to #1 and #2 real soon πŸ™‚ my TWW is up this Friday so fx :S

All the best!

soontobemrsKB92615:  I took clomid and luckily didn’t have many symptoms.  I got my bfp the first round. My dr thinks I have mild pcos, and my long cycles eventually turned anovulatory.  Good luck!
