I finally started working on these! I had to paint the shoe from a brown color with leather paint. I used white and hot pink and painted them in an ombre style too, so the color beneath the stones would match. I still have some cleanup to do from the paint job but that’s OK!
Also, I used Pellosa stones instead of Swarovski to strass the shoes, since I need so many crystals and really didn’t want to fork out a few hundred dollars for them. Together, the shoes and crystals cost me only $90.00. Also, the crystals are pretty comparable to Swarovski and only about 1/10th of the price! Score!
Done with paint! Have to clean up the toe area. It comes right off of the rubber though, so it’s no big deal.
Starting crystals.. I like to outline the edges first.
I decided to show off the little wavy lines cause I kind of liked them.
Aaand getting closer to half way on this one shoe. It took about 7 hours so far, so I’m guessing when I finish I will have put around 30 hours into this pair of shoes. I do plan on wearing them after the wedding… who knows where though?! I don’t tend to go anywhere fancy. Haha.
