This is super-duper rough, so bear that in mind! I liked the idea of handwritten-looking fonts, so I handwrote it all and then scanned it into the computer. My Fiance put it into Illustrator and like MAGIC the edges and everything were smoothed, plus we can move the letters around, add colours etc (any experienced design Bees will know all this, but I personally danced in circles when I realized how much you can do with it and how easily).
Anyway, so these are preliminary colours (also excuse the blurred out names). We are getting married next summer and want our theme to be kind of playful with lots of pastel colours. I am also going to draw little objects that represent our lives and place them on this STD, kind of scattered about (in the same style – cartoony).
What do you think? The colour arrangement is by no means final as I am sure there is a better way of combining colours or changing them. The Toronto bit at the bottom we will definitely redo, so the weird whiteness won’t be there. Oh, and we are sending them out on e-mail, but the invitations will have the same theme and will be printed. Thanks Beeeees!

Oh, and here’s one with different colours.

I like the colors of the first one more than the second one.

Super cute!!! I like the way youre headed with things!
The yellow font on the green paper is hard to read and the blue font on the purple paper is hard to read. I dont know if they’ll look different when printed though!

@MLDoddie: I hear ya! With some tinkering I’m sure we can solve it, but I’m not one of those people that instantly has the perfect colour in mind (so jealous of those guys!). I think we’ll settle on a background colour first and then sort the visibility of font.

I’m drawing my invitations as well, so I’m a bit biased, but I think it’s so nice with a homemade invitation! Of these two, I find the first one more pleasing to the eye.
In terms of getting the colours right – check colour wheels online or head to Rona and pick up colour samples from the paint section!

@eliseemma: I think it also complements the Weddingbee colours, ha! :p

Cute! 8D Like the first just a little more – maybe try making the yellow a bit more like a gold (just to help it stand out a little more)?
In regards to the second scheme I’m not sure how printing light onto a darker paper would work? Just something to bear in mind 🙂
Love that you converted your own handwriting, nice idea and looks aweseome! 😀
