@pokie45:  Not doing the Shred, but I do Ripped in 30 on my cross-training days.  It’s such a good burn! Good luck!

I am thinking of starting. I’d actually really like a work out buddy but it’s just not possible. I feel like I’m put off by following along with a dvd vs. doing a workout with other people or an in-person trainer. Do you have any words of encouragement for someone like myself who seems to be hung up on something so ridiculous? Haha, serious question though. Thanks in advance!

@ShiftedLobster:  Check out Meetup.com to see if there is a fitness group near you, or sign up to take a class.  Maybe if you did the DVDs a couple days a week and then took a class or two a week, you’d get the group interaction at least some of the time.  I go through that, too, sometimes, where I just want other people around me.  The good thing about Jillian, though, is that she’s hysterical!  I crack up listening to the things she says and she has some great motivational thoughts, and it makes “just doing a DVD” a bit more fun/interactive.  Maybe invite a girlfriend over to do the tape with you or have your man participate?  FI did a Jillian workout with me once, and he was amazed by what a great workout it was.  Sometimes, I am stuck with a less than optimal workout for whatever reason (weather, time, etc), but at least it’s better than nothing.  You owe it to yourself to do SOMETHING, and 20-30 minutes with the DVD is certainly something 🙂

@inspiredcreations:  Thanks for the advice!! I have never visited meetup.com but will check it out. The only thing I’ve seen Jillian on is The Biggest Loser and she seems super tough there, good to know she is actually funny and makes the workout fun!

Earlier in the year I was doing a combo of ripped in 30 and 30 day shred.  I preferred ripped in 30 so you might want to check that out too
