I’ve been talking about it, and I finally got off my butt today and did it. Does anyone have any good recipes to share? Also, what type of success has everyone had? I would love to lose about 80lbs (yep, 80) but would be happy with about 60 or my super sexy jeans from Express fitting again.

Hey best of luck chick! I’ve 70 lbs to lose, and think I will head back to ww on Thurs – I’ve lost a stone that way the odd time, but always put it back on. However, I’ve never lost weight any other way, so I’m going to try to stick with the program this time! How are you on exercise, is there any type you like? I’m going back to the gym as soon as the snow melts, which looks like Monday… 🙁

Thanks Aunt Pol, Good Luck to you, too. The first fews days sucked getting used to actually watching portions. I’ll be going back to the gym soon too, this week was not the week I was up to it if you know what I mean,

Good luck…I’ve been doing WW and lost about 16 pounds with about 100 more to go. I plan on concentrating on small goals…I’m working on my 10% now. I’ve heard people says that WW encourages you to eat processed foods…maybe the WW center they went to did, but mine does not. You joined at a good time…fruits and most veggies are 0 points now and we get more points then we did before.
I know how hard it can be when you want to lose a lot of weight REALLY fast, especially when you hear about people doing these crash diets and losing like 10 pounds in 2 week (hello, water weight)…people on WW, especially those who weight more to start with, will tend to lose a good bit of weight the first week, and even the second…I typically lose between .5 to 3 pounds a week (with slight gains here and there – which is natural and normal). I lost 1 pound in the last two weeks…but I’m okay with that, esp. since it was the holidays…the little losses add up. It didn’t get put on overnight so you can’t take it off overnight. And remember, losing a pound or a half a pound a week is great – it takes cutting out approximately 500 calories a DAY to lose A POUND a week.
You can do it!!! It’s been hard for me to not to compare myself to others who’ve been doing this as long as I have and have lost double or more than double my weight loss…but I’ve been trying to put it into perspective…just with my little bit off loss, my cholesterol has gone down and my blood sugars (i’m diabetic – type 2) have been so good that I keep thinking my meter is broken.
Keep us updated!!!

Congrats on taking the first step! I have lost 45 pounds so far on WW, and have about another 30 to go. My biggest piece of advice is to follow the plan, but just let it become a part of your routine. It’s hard when you spend a lot of time thinking about how much you have left to lose, and start obsessing about it.
And feel free to join our WW group. We post every Friday to share out successes/struggles of the week.

@LeahP just out of curiosity – how long did it take you to lose that weight on WW. I have been thinking about joining. I weight 150 pounds right now and would just like to lose that last 25 pounds. I was hoping to do it by my graduation from teachers college in April. I have found it so difficult to lose the weight because it seems like so far this year I just study study study and havent had much time for the gym. I think a proper eating program to make sure my body is getting the nutrition and energy it needs would be a great start.
