Prettysmile40 :  no tips yet as we just got our IVF postponed (grrrrrrr) so we aren’t starting for at least another month – but good luck!

I was the same as you. I said there was no way in hell I would do IVF, IUI was going to be my last ditch effort. And then suddenly the news that my husband and I can’t have children without it made me realize that I’m more afraid of never having kids than I am of a boatload of needles and all of my other fears I had.

Prettysmile40 :  Just wanted to wish you the best of luck.  Working with a fertility clinic can be completely overwhelming.  We wanted to just walk the other way after our first appointment with our RE.  Over time, we got more comfortable with the idea that we needed help, but it certainly wasn’t our first reaction.  Fingers crossed that you get your BFP!

Prettysmile40 :  I feel like not knowing why is even worse. We know why we can’t conceive so it was helpful in killing all hopes for a natural conception lol.

Good luck! I’m ten weeks pregnant after my first IVF round. ❤️ If you are feeling overwhelmed, it might help to ask your Fertility clinic for a calendar schedule of when you need to take each shot, etc or create one yourself. I did that and it was super helpful and made me feel very organized. Also, some ladies are able to bounce right back after egg retrieval… I was basically on the couch from egg retrieval to transfer, so just be prepared for it to go either way. Good luck! Feel free to ask me any specific questions that you have!!

Good luck! I know you didn’t want to do this (who does?!) but I really hope it works for you! I was overwhelmed by the process, but it really wasn’t so bad once I was in it. The anticipation was much worse! I did some silly things like buy cute band aids for after shots and organic lollipops as a little reward for after! Silly but it helped! I made lists of things to do to keep me occupied during it all. Do you use Pinterest? I pinned lots of quotes and motivational things and just things that made me happy. It’s not what anyone wants their ttc journey to become, but I look at my daughter and think wow, if I hadn’t done IVF, it wouldn’t be her!
