I know some people would never think to do this, but my SO and I went to look at a venue today. It was gorgeous and everyone at the venue was extremely nice to us. I expected to feel awkward being there without a ring, but my SO was excited as I was and it felt good to hear his opinion on things. We didn’t put down a deposit, but found out how much it will cost us, and decided that we will be getting married there in the future. Now I am just gonna patiently wait for him to propose.

If you’re looking at venues, you’re engaged! 🙂
Albeit, you’re saying unofficially, which I am technically in the same boat as you. But I still consider myself “engaged” anyway. Because I’m fabulous.
And you are too! 😉

I say its unofficial…
However with a caveat, do you know his plan/timeline? If not I would stop planning till you know it because it could lead to dissapointment. I have seen many bees go down this path. In fact I would stop talking about it until you are engaged (I know its fun, but…)
You will have a date and colors and BMs picked out, but somehow your SO doesnt propose because XYZ and you are disappointed, but he thinks everything is great because you have “kind of” plans. you need to be on the exact same page.

@ThreeMeers: I do have to agree with this in many cases!

Yep I know it’s coming by the end of the year. So not too much longer. 🙂 Also it was his idea to go look, and he was talking to the woman about getting more rooms to rent out at the venue, the bar and where it and the cake would be set up, and how many prospective guests we’ll have. It went very well, and at this point I feel like I’m just waiting for him to get the ring and propose, so we can make it “official”
