Your friend obviously loves you enough to invite you to her wedding, so one would hope she would understand you don’t own a dress in her theme and can’t afford to buy one. Also, seems a little crazy bride to tell guests what to wear. You are a guest not a piece of decor.

I dont know that I have advice… On the one hand, it does sorta make me raise my eyebrows when brides dictate what guests can wear, but on the other hand if its an important wish I would say try your hardest to follow suit. But more importantly THAT DRESS IS AWESOME. Holy crap it looks FABULOUS…. Do want. Of course I dont have money to blow on myself either :/

I would check out goodwill, thrift stores and consignment shops.  There’s a lot of things I wont buy used, but honestly- formal dresses are an awesome thrift store buy.  So many people buy one, wear it once maybe twice, its sits in the closet for a year and they donate it somewhere.  So usually the dresses are in great condition, and you can find some amazing deals.  I’ve gotten a few for under $20, and had them dry cleaned and worn them, and everyone assumed they were brand new.

I think for the price you’d pay for a cheap “new” dress, you could find some shoes to match your sister’s dress. especially with all the Christmas sales going on.  How about Walmart, Target, or Payless?
