So I personally hate the feeling of being pregnant. I have finally started to get the sickness under control but don’t have much control over the rest of your body. It’s funny how this little person had turned me into its home and changed things around lol
But I am amazed and love the way people are treating me. Everyone seems so much kinder and strangers are going out of their way to open doors for me, let me cut in line, etc. Someone even got out of line at the coffee shop today to go and open the doors for me as I was leaving. I was so touched and thankful at how kind some people really can be to pregnant women 🙂
What is your favorite thing about being pregnant?

I would say how much my Darling Husband dotes on me. Not that he didn’t before, but he’s extra caring now. I think he has a newfound respect or something haha.

@PeasinaPod- I love how husbands seem to really be amazed during pregnancy. It’s so cute.

@roxy821: Glad people are being nicer to you!! Not so much here in NYC! Last night I got on the packed subway car to go home and got a seat, SCORE! A visibly pregnant (at least 30 weeks) girl wobbles on and people all look at her and no one gives her a seat. Who gives her the seat? ME! The other pregnant girl on the train! She notices, we talk about how I’m pregnant too, but definitely not uncomfortable and hopefully someone will return the favor in a few weeks, and people are overhearing this easily and NO ONE gives me their seat! DH and I were just talking that morning about leaving NYC because the rudeness has been really rampant lately and that was just another nail in the coffin!

@lotam40- Aww, I’m sorry. I live outside of Boston and people have been pretty nice, I’ve been pleasantly surprised since I would have usually been run over. I also find that guys are so much nicer than women. I’m only 17 weeks but am clearly showing. The only rude person I ran into was a cop that tired to cut me in line the other day when I was ordering food, I spoke right up I was a hungry pregnant lady and don’t care if he was a cop haha.

i still don’t feel a lot of effect of being pregnant yet (aside from the headaches!). But in terms of what i am enjoying, i would say i have thoroughly been enjoying food! i was always trying to maintain my weight and watch what i eat, so it is kind of nice to have to eat so many nutritious things and not limit myself. I still love not having my period for so long!

I have also noticed that people are a lot nicer/more polite when you are pregnant. And I have found that more people are genuinely happy for me for being pregnant (this wasn’t always the case with getting married and wedding planning!).
The main thing I love about being pregnant is my confidence. Before I was pregnant I always had a belly/thick waist that I was trying to cover up. But now I am actually supposed to have a belly, so I am totally showing it off. Darling Husband loves the belly and I am actually love it when he is touching/rubbing it! The only downfall is that I totally feel confident and sexy, but when it comes to bed, I just want to sleep! Sorry DH!

@lotam240: Gosh I am 37 weeks pregnant and peole still do not offer me a seat on the subway. NYC can be really annoying sometimes. I have found that it depends on which line I’m riding. On teh 6 someone usually offers, on the 7 no one ever does. It may be the worst part of being pregnant.
Back to teh original question, I am one of those weird people who has loved being pregnant. I feel good, I like seeing my body change and feeling the baby move. I also feel liek I am glowing so I don’t bother with make up ever. I just feel really beautiful and am enjoying people being nice to me. I’m getting uncomfortable at this point, so I am okay with it being over soon, but overall I have enojoyed it.

@Purpleunicorn- Like ice cream for breakfast!? hehe
@MissSmurf-I agree, people are much more genuinely happy for me. I have had so many people reach out to congratulate. I wish I could have your confidence. I have always been healthy but this and I feel every pregnant women around me in anorexia (literally). They are constantly talking about things like gaining under 4 pounds in 20 weeks, when I look like a house 🙁
@plantains- So glad that you are enjoying it!

@2PeasinaPod: I agree, Darling Husband was always considerate but now he really will do anything for me, it is so nice!
My students (high schoolers) are also much nicer to me now. They are surprisingly considerate and often ask me how I am feeling.
@roxy821: I do agree with you that I have a hard time with the weight gain. I lost a lot for my wedding in December and its all coming back. Its very depressing, but I am trying to accept its not just me being lazy and that it is inevitable. I have a coworker who is the same weeks pregnant as me and she is much smaller because she is taller and has a long torso…so unfair!
