- Wedding: December 2012
So it’s been quite some time since I’ve overanalyzed, and thankfully I don’t immediately try to connect-the-dots with this stuff. However, I’m seriously beginning to think we might be getting engaged sooner than 6 months. A few things are leading me to believe this:
He asked me to check out the financing for the site I’d like my ring from. I did so, emailed him the information, gave him the setting information and also the center stone preferences. In addition to this, a few months ago we went ring shopping and came up with a few styles I would like. We’ve also been in and out of stores every once in a while to browse but are pretty decided on the style we both agree with.
He is excited about meeting my dad, and meeting him sooner than originally planned (by a month).
He has indicated his price range for the engagement ring.
We talked about reception venues last night over dinner and he asked me to research them. Now, I told him I would NOT be doing this until we were officially engaged because that wouldn’t make sense and he agreed, but we discussed our venue price range and how we would split the cost. He even called a few people at the table to find out how much their venues cost. We talked about food we’d like as well.
He’s also been super attentive lately. Date nights, compliments, etc. Although that could be because I complained about it recently as well.
I think I’m also getting that “gut feeling”. I’m nervous, excited, but not jumping to conclusions. At this point I am happy if he proposes now or proposes 6 months from now. I’m finding it hard to really not talk about weddings because they are brought up somehow by him from time to time. We joke about it a lot, we talk seriously about it, and we discuss costs associated with it without being uncomfortable. Also… everything is wedding now. Tons of shows on TV, the songs just so happen to be about getting engaged, advertisements. It’s crazy.
Anyhow, just wanted to share/vent a little. I can’t really share this with my friends or family right now because it sounds a little crazy and I think people would roll their eyes and say “ok”. 🙂
