Bye, wonderfully carbonated drinks. Hello, green/black tea and water!
Don’t get me wrong, I do drink lots of water and hot teas, but I also weigh myself down with sugary sodas.
Anyone else stay away from soda? Do you miss it, or is it easier to make better choices now?

I have soda like once every 3 months now, if that. I don’t even miss it. Sweet tea is the closest I get. At first, it was weird, but it gets easier as time goes on. Eventually, drinking it feels weird.

I tend to mostly drink water with a couple of coffees (with soy milk) a day. Fizzy drinks/soda are a special treat.

I cut out sodas (yes, even diet) about a year ago. I don’t miss them at all. I get my carbonation fix from Pellegrino.
I also cut out juices (waaay too much sugar). I drink a lot of water!

I wasn’t a huge soda drinker, but I never drink enough water. I was drinking a fair bit of juice instead just to ensure I was hydrated. I cut down on juice though and now drink club soda (and usually add some lime juice).

i never, ever drink soda. On occasion, I may order a rum and coke at the bar with friends but that’s about it. It’s sugar and wasted calories.

I love diet soda. I am trying to cut back but haven’t cut it out completely. Good luck!!

@StefLovesJamie: I am with you on that one! I am actually starting tomorrow. 🙂

I cut out soda a bit ago, and made Fi do it with me. I have been doing really good I still have a craving for a coke every now and then but it is no big deal. At first I was craving it all the time but it gets easier!

Best of luck! 😀 You can do it!

I’m the same, I love carbonation, but mix a Perrier or Pellogrino with juice (I’m hooked on an organic 100% black cherry one right now.) It’s a really good mix!

I cut back on soda to lose weight a few years ago, and it made a HUGE difference! Eventually I pretty much cut it out completely, especially when I got kidney stones. Every once in blue moon I’ll drink it, but it upsets my stomach because of all the sugar and syrup.
I only really drink water now, and I feel much better! My skin is always nice, I’m rarely bloated (especially when you have good eating habits, too!), my breath is better/I don’t have a bad taste in my mouth from drinks, and I’m slimmer overall. I sleep better, too, and my hair is in better shape.
Water can be boring, though, I will admit. So I drink my water with limes or lemon, sometimes with some sugar-free juice mixed in. Delicious! It’s hard to drink water all the time at first, but once you do it all the time, it becomes habit and your body just craves it.
Good for you for making healthy decisions! 🙂

That sounds like a good idea! I didn’t know it had all these advantages, naive as that sounds. LOL.

I haven’t drank pop (without alcohol) since I was in high school. I had an athletic coach who was a nazi and would go ape on us if he knew we were drinking pop. Once I cut it out, it quickly lost its appeal to me. If I do try to drink it now I feel all bloated and gross. The only thing I drink on a daily basis is water. Other than that, I don’t really know how it affects me because I was so young the last time that I really drank it. 🙂

I’ve cut out soda completely as well. It feels so good! A few times I didn’t have much of a choice but soda as a drink option for where I was at and after taking one sip, I felt completely disgusting and didn’t touch the rest.
All I drink now is mainly water and iced tea here and there. I’ll have my cup of coffee at work in the mornings and that’s it. FI has also cut out soda but he’s admitted he hasn’t cut it out completely. Just thinking about soda grosses me out now. And I LOVED Dr. Pepper and Cream Soda. Recently when I went to my parents’ house I saw my mom had some cream soda. I was like, “Omg, give me!” I drank it but so did not enjoy it anymore. So I won’t be doing that again. Lol. Good luck on cutting it out! You’ll feel so much better. 🙂
