So I always see posts about people having statement necklaces. I see people with big, blingy bracelets or earrings. Has anyone worn a “statement” RHR for the wedding???
I’m thinking of wearing a deep purple amethyst on my right hand for the wedding. My BM’s are in deep purple and it’s one of the main colors. My shoes are purple too.
Here is my dress:
Here is what I am contemplating (style wise) for the ring.

I think it’s pretty, but it kind of looks like a class ring.
Have you thought about where you’ll wear your engagement ring? Some brides wear their engagement ring on their right hand throughout the ceremony and reception.

I wouldn’t because (and correct me if I’m wrong) but you’re supposed to wear your e-ring on your right hand for your walk down the aisle…

As PPs said, I wore my ering on my right hand prior to the ceremony. Also, I feel like a large statement piece takes the focus off your ering and new wband on the day.

I won’t be wearing my ering on my right hand as it doesn’t fit that finger. So either I’ll wear the ering and have the band put on at the top and fix it after, or I’ll have Fiance put both rings on.
I want to have something on my right hand for a ring but I don’t want to wear my “every day” ring for the wedding.

I’m a huge fan of statement right hand rings and I think somethind dark purple would look lovely with your romantic dress. BUT, I don’t think the ring you have pictured complements your dress. It’s a bit heavy/gothic looking. I’d suggest something more like this:
As an aside, I think you could totally pull off wearing dark purple nail polish instead of the statement ring.

I love that ring, but I agree w/PP it doesn’t really fit the style of your dress. I would look maybe for a different style ring for your right hand

I agree that the ring doesn’t match the style of the dress. The ring@Miss Mauverick: posted is much better

I love the idea of a big purple RHR!

I voted no. my rings will be soldered before the ceremony and I’ll wear nothing on my hands except my ring for the big day

I agree the original one I posted was too clunky. If I do it, I’d be more delicate. Something like these maybe:

@hiroshymatetrastar: I’d never heard of that before!!!
@Junip3r: Thats funny you say it looks like a class ring. I plan on wearing my class ring on my wedding day. I have worn it everyday since my graduation (it is like carrying my diploma everywhere I go) and couldn’t imagin not wearing it.

Why not? I wore a black onyx rhr on my wedding day and my everyday pinky ring (my original e-ring). Oh, and my nails were a super dark purple.

Sure…who the hell cares. I like cocktail rings. But I would do gold. Unless you don’t wear gold. Then wear the silver. Another thing to consider is a statement bracelet…
