@traveller:  Black Friday is the WORST time to shop for anything. For one thing, the deals aren’t even THAT great and there are just too many people. They sleep outside of stores for two days prior, the way people do for concerts and things. It’s pretty insane. I wouldn’t bother unless you had no choice.

As far as stores, try places like Macy’s, JCPenney and Michael’s Crafts. I did a lot of my wedding shopping at those places. You could check out David’s Bridal and Men’s Wearhouse- both of those places are hit or miss, but worth a look, if you’re near one.

@traveller:  Actually, although PP is right about Black Friday being a ridiculous shopping day for most things, it might be a good time to hit a place like David’s Bridal! The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are generally the slowest season for bridal because people are focused on shopping for holiday gifts instead. Then it gets busy again in January – business spikes with all the Christmas and New Years’ engagements.

So, I would definitely stay away from malls, etc., on Black Friday and do your shoe shopping, etc., at another time, but if you wanted to try looking for affordable bridal wear/accessories, jewelry, etc. on Black Friday it might be worth going to a few specifically bridal shops. They are likely to be a lot LESS busy on that day than the average retail store.

One good to go shopping on black friday is on-line, (If this is an option for you!), you get some of the same deals without having to sit long lines.
