- Wedding: May 2011
Well, if I got my way, we’d be going to Greece (I’ve been there before, and it’s PERFECT for the occasion.) If we had a little more time and he had his way, we’d be going to Jamaica.
As it is, he’s increasingly realizing that waiting until he’s back from deployment for our honeymoon (January) just makes it a vacation. (Though I found out he’s deploying in late August instead of “sometime in July”. Which make me marginally happier.) He’s only got about 4 extra days to play with. So he’s considering a stateside honeymoon shortly after the wedding.
As much as I don’t want to decide on honeymoon stuff (aside from the town and size of the wedding party, I’ve been the only one planning the wedding), I know him. He’ll hem and haw and it’ll be down to me going “this specific place, or waiting until January for Jamaica.”
Which is where you lovely ladies come in.
We both love animals. He’s from California, I’m from Missouri, we live in Georgia. We’re not terribly athletic, though I like hiking and he mentioned skiing (NOOOOO! NOOOOOOO!!!!!) We both like wine. I love history and cool weather (I’ve been breaking out in heat rashes this week), he likes beaches and warm weather. He likes big cities, I like national parks.
In attempting to combine our interests along with a stateside honeymoon, I have a few options:
Vermont (it keeps coming up in searches, and neither of us have been there.)
Colorado (We’re considering moving there, if he can find a job. We both love mountains.)
Charleston, SC (It’s within driving distance, and I know I like it a lot.)
Wisconsin Dells (I’ve been there before and LOVED it. Plus my cousin is having his wedding reception in Minneapolis around that timeframe.)
