I’ve gone through the whole process with WB.  I was waiting, then engaged, now married.  I feel like I have a lot more to offer now that I’ve been there, done that.  So much more insight when you’ve lived it, LOL.

I don’t like to use the term “waiting” because I wasn’t waiting for Fiance to propose, I was working to finish my masters degree and move across the country to join him, knowing we’d get engaged at some point thereafter. Turns out he proposed two days before I graduated, so there was never really any period of sitting around wondering when it was going to happen. But, I started reading the blogs when my friend was planning her wedding and kept up for the next six months-ish until he did propose, and then I gradually started becoming active on the boards. (I’m a compulsive planner so of course I was already planning our wedding in my head as I was lurking.)

My relationship with the site changed substantially when I did become engaged publicly. I would have felt very strange posting on wedding forums before that point (no offense intended to those who do so). I guess I like to save things for their own time, to keep them feeling special, and being a part of the wedding-planning world fit into that.

I found out about weddingbee from a friend well after I was engaged.  I was engaged on March 29, 2008 and I didnt join until December 2008.  I was a follower of the blog way before that, probably in May or June but I didnt join the boards until December!

Engaged and still engaged. Although I lurked around the blog whilst I was waiting I didn’t discover the boards until after we got engaged.

    Waiting : married.

I read on and off for a few months, then when I thought that I would be engaged really soon, I read religiously. My “imminent waiting” period lasted for 2 years, I think! I got engaged, and read it regularly, then I got married and read on and off again. Now I’m mostly a board person, as I can’t get the time with a newborn to read all the posts per day, and I don’t know who any of the new bees are!

I was a waiting bee for a few weeks, and then engaged.  I’ll end up full circle waiting:engaged:married since I love this place so much 🙂
