(Closed) Staying motivated after the wedding

Darling Husband and I had the same problem – I gained 15lbs in the three months after our wedding (ugh!). So in January, I booked us a return trip to our honeymoon destination for our 1 year anniversary. Our goal is to be more fit/in better shape for our anniversary than we were for our wedding. We have 47 days til the trip now, and I’m about to get my workout in!

Darling Husband and I had the same problem, although we technically are in better shape for our one year anniversary (YESTERDAY :D) than we were at the wedding.  My motivation to stay on it is to do charity runs, my first one is for the humane society.  I’m doing good on the training part, the raising money part is difficult.

i try to find small milestones and set goals for them. like we are going to 3 weddings in october of this year (just about a year after our wedding last september) and we’d both like to be in better shape than we were at that time last year. also – even smaller goals – i’m taking a 5 week grad school class this summer and i’m trying to lose 7 lbs before class is over. i have two weeks left and 4 lbs left – going to be cutting it close!

We had the same problem.  Looks like it’s really common!  I think it’s less daunting when you don’t have any specific goals in mind, aside from maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  But if I tell myself I want to lose 10lbs by a certain date, I feel like it’s torture.  What we ended up doing was just being more active.  And I was more careful of the foods we made or went out for.  Eventually, it just becomes part of your daily living routine.
