Uh… Wedding is in April… and I handed an invite WITH the STD to my future step-son’s best friend (he’s practically a son to us, lol) last night.  LOL!  He got the first one that was completely finished and put together.

Others (invites and STDs) are going out at the family reunion (on my FI’s side) this weekend.  Pretty sure the rest of the Save-The-Date Cards will be mailed out within the next couple weeks.  Just ’cause.

My wedding has about half of the people in a 3h distance, and all the others have to fly in from afar and international locations. In order to spread the word about the date and hotel options, so that people can look into booking what they need…

I am planning to send out my Save-The-Date Cards by November, and the official invite (at least the international ones) will go out in February. I’m really excited- we just got our engagement pictures. 🙂

We’ll send the Save The Date cards right after we book our venue, which we can only do a year in advance. So early October-ish?

Like SnowflakeDS, many family members & friends would be coming from all over the country, some internationally, so it makes sense to have things pencilled into busy calendars well in advance.

The invitations will be late spring/early summer-ish

@Zinzerena: Your wedding is in April 2012 and you already are distributing invitations!?!  I understand Save-The-Date Cards, but invites?  Really?  Are you doing a destination wedding?  Invities should not go out until maximum 2 months before the wedding unless it’s destination.  Just sayin’.

Our wedding is 9-1-12, which is a holiday weekend. About half of our guests have to travel, and since it is a holiday weekend, we will be sending out the Save-The-Date Cards 9 months in advance, with the invites about 3 months in advance. Hopefully people don’t think we’re nuts for it, but I think it’s better to give people more time.

@julis120:  This is my plan too.  I also want to send the Save-The-Date Cards before the holidays so that they don’t get mixed in with people’s holiday cards.
