hahaha definitely! for a loooooooooong time I kept having to reiterate to myself STD=save the date

STI= sexually transmitted infection,

it was like a mantra, but sometimes I still have those split second thoughts where I’m like “go see a doctor!” before bride brain kicks in and is like  “noo…. they are talking about paper duh”

@missmouse29: I always try to remind myself it’s Save the Date and STI is for sexually transmitted infections, but there’s a college around here called STI (you’d think someone would have figured that one out!). So either way, I just get the O.o look every time I see either abbreviation, and I always spell out save-the-dates…I just can’t do it otherwise!

Yep, here too. I was pretty removed from the wedding world when I got engaged, especially since I was one of the first of my friends to get married. I had no idea what an STD was the first time I came across it here. I was so confused as to why a bride would be discussing her STD on a wedding forum. Logically, I knew about Save the Dates, but I just never made that acryonimical (I’m making it a word) connection until then. And even now, it takes a split second for me to think anything *but* sexually transmitted disease.

@kfricke89: Oh, my undergrad was just crazy. UMM = KUMM…’who doesn’t want KUMM in their ear.’ Oh yes, they went there. You should have seen the t-shirts…they featured little swimmers.

I still laugh everytime I see “kissing balls” in WB, even after looking up what they really mean 🙂
