The STD I ordered and are sending very soon are very casual and the colors don’t match my wedding colors whatsoever. (They are light blue) Now I just fell in love with invitations that are pewter & ivory and very fancy looking. My colors are ivory, purple and silver. Do they have to match?
I feel like my colors are all over the place and the fact that my STD’s were so laid back and my invites will be so fancy it might look funny. What do you guys think??
FYI, I really love these invitations! :/

I added a poll because I think people might be more honest!

Doesn’t matter at all. Mine didn’t match each other or anything to do with my wedding. We picked what we liked.

Our wedding invites were black and white, every other piece of stationary we used was cream!
And our wedding colors were aqua and red.
Definitely not a big deal!

I do not think they have to match…. Consider all the brides/grooms that use photo STD’s… I highly doubt these same couples are using photos on the invite.
My STD’s had the same color as the wedding invites but that was about it.
My Invites and Response cards were the same design.

Doesn’t matter, IMO. Mine don’t match even a little bit.

@RubyStar: By the time I get your invite the std will be long gone and I wont even remember what it looked like.

Mine will likely match because we are happy with the Save-The-Date Cards and would happily use the same Etsy seller, but it’s not a big deal at all

Mine don’t match at all. My STD is a purple background with a teal banner and a cupcake on it with funky writing! My invitations are a more formal design and everything is blue/cream.
I didn’t put much thought into it as they are a considerable distance apart. I also thought that a STD is a less formal thing so I could be more fun with it!

I think Save-The-Date Cards are less formal and can be different and with a little more personality. Do what you want- who cares!

I don’t think it matters. People may take cues for how to dress from the formality of the invitation though, what level are you going for?

@RubyStar: I honestly wouldn’t even notice if they matched. It’s not like I’d compare the two and be appalled that they were different. I say, get what you want! You like them and that is all that matters.

@RubyStar: Why would they need to match? You think your guests are going to frame them or something? Don’t sweat it darling!

Our invites are formal (black and white engraved), and I didn’t want to do engraved Save-The-Date Cards, I wanted to use an engagement picture. We picked our STD on what looked good with the picture that we wanted to use. It doesn’t matter! The STD doesn’t set the formality of the event, the invite does.
