Oops. I’d probably re-order the RSVP cards. How much would that cost?

I just think you set yourself up for a lot of no-shows making people commit that far in advance.

This makes no sense to me. Send out the STD as planned. Your invites don’t need to go out til March- plenty of time to get them corrected.

How expensive is it to reorder the RSVP’s?  I would think it would be better to do that instead of sending out your invites super early.

i think that you should reorder the rsvps. i am so not ready to think about summer wedding season in january so i’d probably look at the invite, go “oh yay they are are getting married. ill rsvp later” slid it on a shelf and forget all about it.

the only exception would be if its a Destination Wedding or essentially a Destination Wedding since almost everyone is traveling from far away?

so maybe reorder some? not the whole amount? and send out invites early to those folks?

It is not polite to invite people too early.  It implies that people have nothing better to do, and that your wedding is the best ever.

You also won’t get many valid replies, since people won’t know their work schedules, or other plans that far in advance.

    Re-order.

I would reorder. You’ll just confuse people and get a million calls.

@andielovesj:  never heard this about it being rude either, I just think it’s impractical to invite too far in advance. Anywhere from 6-16 weeks could be reasonable to me depending on distance/travel/holiday and if you set Save-The-Date Cards.

If it’s not too expensive, re-order the RSVP cards. Or if you can find some way to DIY the RSVP cards, do that. But unfortunately people suck at keeping track of dates far in the future (I’m guilty of that!) so I think sending the invites 6-8 weeks in advance is the ideal time to send them.
