I am kind of a little behind on getting STD’s done and out. My wedding is 10/16/10 and I feel I need to get these puppies out especially since the wedding will be in Vegas, which is destination for everyone. I need help with this though. I don’t mind doing a DIY but I draw a bank when it comes to ideas. I really like the postcard STD’s but can you DIY them. Where is the best place to look for ideas or should I just order them and if so from where? I haven’t even began to really look at invites either. Help bees, this is an area where I haven’t really put any thought into and would love some advice

that is my Daughters^^^^^^
she used an engagement photo and found a girl on ETSY who she helped her and she was great to work with …. the back has her info/website and she mailed it like a postcard
If you like I’ll ask her the girl on ETSY… we are in Florida and the girl actually was in California BUT the price and the turn around town was SUPER! It is oversized … about 5 x 7

I am doing them myself and I was going back and forth with postcards…Instead I am going with a DIY card. If it makes you feel any better mine aren’t out and my wedding date is 10/10/10 on a holiday weekend!

Magnetstreet has alot of different designs, including magnets, postcards and regular cards. I would start browsing over there and see if anything strikes your fancy. Also, weddingpaperdivas, hello lucky, and minted have cute card designs.

I DIYed mine. They are 5″ x 7″ postcards. I did the design in Phtotoshop (I don’t own Illustrator or InDesign) and had them printed at overnightprints.com. (Personally, I don’t like VistaPrint’s quality but I have read about tons of brides who use them and are happy with the results.)

I just had to stop by and be really immature and say that your title made me LOL! Will I ever grow up? 😛

@layla – hehehehe I know, I cleverly thought that was super funny so decided on that because I too and really immature about that little abbreviation.

Ahh you’re my date twin! I’m just getting started on the Save-The-Date Cards and we are not behind based on the timelines I’ve read. I’m loving the idea of postcards as well. I think for my design I am going to use wordle (www.worldle.net) to jumble up the information in a fun way and then put our picture next to the information. I was planning to use vistaprint but I didn’t know about overnightprints. I’ll have to check that out.
Jojobananas – I LOVE yours. I wish I knew Photoshop.

We did ours ourselves via photoshop.
We printed them on Vistaprint – which also has templates you can choose from.

First I have to say that you and Layla are funny…thanks for the morning laugh!
I DIY’ed our Save-The-Date Cards. We used a boarding pass template that was fun and easy to use! I figured since everyone would have to travel for our wedding it would be cute. Everyone LOVED them when they received it. I kept getting FB and text messages about them!

I made mine and then had them printed on Vistaprint. I think that might be cheaper than buying the paper myself and trying to get my printer to print them (plus the pictures look a lot better).

How about using this super cute template/dowload from Wedding Chicks?
If you’re interested in the paperless route for STD’s, I designed a simple e-STD for my friends and we sent them via email using Mail Chimp and it totally ROCKS!!! It’s easy, fun and FREE!!! The email had a link to their website and asked to reply with names, addres, etc.

@kindredspirits – That template is so cute! If I hadn’t designed mine already, that would be a serious contender.
I used uprinting.com for my postcard Save-The-Date Cards, and I was really happy with the service and with the results. I tried using vistaprint but abandoned it when I realized they weren’t giving me the “free postcards” I had thought they were offering.
