I think it’s fine for them to be different.  Save-The-Date Cards are more “fun” and the actual invite should be more formal.  I LOVE the second one – I say, “Go for it!”

my STD and my wedding/invites didn’t match! We did our engagement pics on a beach and we did a photo montage of those  beach pics and sent that out. My wedding is a peacock theme though. I think the Vegas them for the STD is REALLY cute b/c if gives everyone the heads up that the wedding is in vegas and both of those are adorable!

you can totally do those even if you aren’t doing Vegas theme for your wedding ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t think they have to match, mine aren’t going to.. My STD’s are really colorful & more themed than what my invites will be.. I like the 2nd one the best, to me its fun & definitely Vegas style. I’m also going to add a strip of magnets to my STD’s so that if people want to put them on the fridge tehy can (I’m finishing mine this weekend).

I love the first one. I like that it’s just a hint of Vegas at the bottom.  Nice clean design.

I prefer the second one, I don’t really like the first picture.. as for the invite, you can do a formal invite with a fun STD, ours didn’t match at all!

I love that you used “Vegas” as an adjective first off. Second, your Save the Dates and invitations don’t have to be the same. My Save the Dates are nothing like what I’m picturing my invitations to be like.

I like the second one for the Save the Dates, it brings a touch of “Vegas” so your guests get that, but then when you do the invitation make it as formal as you want.

I’m treating my San Francisco wedding as a semi-destination wedding because about 85% of the guests are from out of town, with 2/3 requiring flights to get here.

Why not do engagement pictures on the strip and use one of them for the STD? Then do a small vegas variation on the invitation?

If you can’t find anything you’re in love with online, find an invitation designer who will make a design for you! (Some allow you to simply buy the design and purchase it on your own.) I’m using a girl who I found here on Weddingbee and she’s done a great job so far! (I’m waiting on my final round of revisions… I CAN’T WAIT to post her work. PM me if you want her info. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and Save-The-Date Cards and Invites definately don’t need to match!

My vote is for the 2nd one.  Super cute!  Wish I could of something like that!

Just read that your STD is your chance to be creative since everyone knows what a formal invite will look like.  The theme of Vegas is there, I mean your IN Vegas so after the STD no need to use Vegas stuff again.

I think they are both super cute!

My Save-The-Date Cards and Invites did not match at all. Save-The-Date Cards were a photo postcard and the invitations were definately more formal complete with flowers and bows ๐Ÿ™‚
