I don’t think it’s rude to send them out sooner than later – it’s necessary info for your wedding!  If you wait too long, they will be useless to your guests because the invite will arrive shortly after.  I sent my STDs in Feb and my invites are going out in early Sept for my Dec wedding.

Its not rude at all.  Send them out at the best time for you guys.

She’s at the end of her planning and is probably just anxious for the whole thing to be over with Smile.  You won’t be stealing her thunder

I don’t think it’s really stealing her thunder… it’s a save the date, you aren’t competing with her wedding invitations.  It doesn’t make sense to send STDs and invitations one month apart.

I think you are being super respectful by trying to wait, but it’s just a STD. No thunder stealing involved! Go ahead and send ’em!

I am probably the only person on this board who didn’t immediately realize that “STD” was Save the Date. Embarassed

No, it’s not rude. It just makes sense.

LOL, if you’re getting STDs from Etsy and it DOESN’T mean Save-the-Date…that’s a problem! 😉

@armychica06:  we have 7 months between engagement and wedding and I, too, decided save the dates would be a waste of money…it was February by the time we had “engagement” pictures done. Luckily the fiance really didn’t care either way.

Send them! Esp bc you are getting married between Thanksgiving and Xmas right? That can be a busy time for people, you want them to plan accordingly.
