@Aisling10:  I didn’t do postcards in the end because the barcode they put on it for sorting would have covered up our wedding website.

So to be safe it might be worth it to take a prototype in and see how they will stamp and barcode it to make sure all the information is readable.

After sending a STD postcard to myself to see how it would hold up, I just put the Save-The-Date Cards into the mailbox.

I would suggest taking them to the post office. I put ours in the city mail box at work and was a nervous wreck after I did it. I was afraid they would get lost or someone would take them. lol! I think taking them to the post office will allow you to be more relaxed since you know they won’t get lost!

I’d say Post Office, just to be safe. With important mail, I always take the extra time to take it to the Post Office. Go on your lunch break to avoid a line.

I took mine to the post office…  but mostly because I don’t have a mail box.  I don’t think I would have a problem putting them in the mail box though…  you send out much more important things out all the time and don’t really give it a second thought (not to say STD’s aren’t important, but they aren’t as important as bills and other things I would typically send out)
