Okay, so first, let me say that I obviously know there’s still time…it’s only been a few days.
But I sent out all of my Save-The-Date Cards at the same time as a few Mother’s day cards.
Everyone got their Mother’s Day card, no one got an STD.
I wouldn’t be freaking out at all, if, after I had put them in the mail and left the post office, Fiance had said “Gee, I hope people can read that pen…”
I figured obviously the post office employee would have said something, but maybe not?
Someone tell me something that won’t make me continue down this crazy path.

Did you use a glitter pen or something? If they weren’t deliverable, they would send them back to you. Mail is so crazy, sometimes we mail things in town and it takes a day and other times it takes a week!

If you dropped them all off as a bulk mailing that can sometimes slow down the processing.

No, they were brown envelopes, with a gold gel pen, but I took one to the post office when I bought the pen, and they said no problem.
I’m sure they’re out there somewhere, but nothing showed up today yet either…this is not the first time this post office has lost something, my postal worker also got fired or reassigned because she was so bad at delivering mail. Of course THESE would get lost…

It sounds like that may be a difficult combination for the post office reader machine (whatever it’s called) to read (brown with gold). I’ve always heard that you should address envelopes in black or blue pen (but that could be outdated advice…). Can you contact the post office you dropped them off at on Monday to verify that they were sent out?

I will, of course. I mean, that doesn’t stop me from being driven crazy until then, but hopefully if they’re not being delivered, they’re sitting there waiting for me to come back and get them. That’s better than them just floating out there!

Our Save the Dates were so weird. A few people got the the very same day we sent them and other people who live in the same area got them three weeks later. We also sent one to our roommate to be funny but she never got it. It makes me wonder who else didn’t get theirs… I would try nt to worry yet. Mail is funny sometimes.
