soontobewilson: I haven’t read all the comments, but there’s this new doorbell/webcam thing that is motion activated. When someone motions around your door or rings the bell, it will send an alert to your phone, and turn on the video feed (even with night vision!) so you can see who is outside your door. This way, even if you’re not home you can catch the theif in action! You can even respond through the doorbell with your voice to hopefully scare them away. I think you can find it on ring.com. We’re definitely investing in one for our home!

kitkatkels: omg, that is hysterical!! YES. Now the only question is elephant or gorilla?
FutureMrsTY: Wow. Can’t believe you watched the whole thing unfold!! So sorry it happened to you too.
peegee: Yeah, we do have a side door and UPS always leaves our packages there…but for some reason USPS only drops them off out front!

Okay I agree too with the camera and the fake box, except you should send poop to yourself to be left on the front porch.
http://poopsenders.com/ maybe that will deter them too. LOL.
EDIT: I see previous bee beat me to it!

Can you have things sent to your office where you work? That’s what I do. I rarely have things shipped home because of the same reason.

FutureDrAtkins: oh that’s great. I bet a “hey… yeah you.. yeah you in the black hoodie. Yeah. I’m filming this and the cops are eagerly waiting for the feed… so if I were you I’d back away..”

bklynbridetobe: We’re currently having things shipped to FI’s work…which is totally fine and works well. It’s just the principle…we shouldn’t “have” to worry about things being stolen off of our front porch.
We’re both coming home right after work tomorrow to file a police report! I tried calling but they actually have to come to the house (or we go there) to do it. Stay tuned…

Report it immediately! Cameras always help… get a clear photo of whoever is stealing your stuff and turn it over to the police. You may also want to consider posting on the next door app/website. I’d also recommend having usps/fedex/etc hold your packages at the store. It’s a pain in the tush, but I’d rather be inconvenienced by having to make one extra stop than having someone stealing my stuff.

I’d set up a fake box with a camera.
