At my cocktail hour I wanted to display pictures of family member’s at their own weddings. I wanted it to be a sentimental surprise. I have a bunch of assorted gold frames to display them in; however, I know some people get weird about stuff like that.
Is it worth the risk of someone disliking the picture I select? I am literally taking these pictures off their profile pictures on facebook. My logic is, if they are sharing it with the 300 + friends they have on facebook, that they won’t mind it at a 120 person wedding. They can always take the picture down if they hate it.

SillyFruit: Even though a picture, once uploaded to FB, is public domain I’d ask your friends/family if it’s ok first. Maybe they’ll even give you one they like most!
I definitely wouldn’t do it without asking them or letting them know because that seems creepy.

I would ask first. Yes, they’ve posted it on a public site, but it’s just polite to ask first. You never know what’s going on in someone’s private life, there may be someone who doesn’t want their picture displayed.

SillyFruit: I would give them a heads up
If i went to a friends, even a close friends wedding and there was a framed pictures of me they took off the internet I would be pretty taken back/ feeling like my privacy was invaded.
IF you let them know you might have some frames with their wedding pictures, they can still be surprised with which ones you choose but its def best to let them know.

I would definitely ask- that would feel like an invasion of privacy.
I thought you meant old family photos to memorialize great grandpa and grandma , god rest their soul (then fine).
