Has anyone done any football or sport related favors? Everyone we know knows that my fiance is a super steelers fan…and I thought it would be so fun to have a little steelers favor for everyone to take home…even if it was something like a Steelers pin or button.
Something like this maybe: http://news.steelers.com/catalog/product/102954/
What do you think…and what sports favors have you given or gotten or will give?!

What a great idea! Smarty graduated from Ohio State. At his OSU buddy’s wedding, chocolate Buckeyes were given out as favors. They were delicious! (Even though I’m a ‘Cane through and through, I still loved them!)
How about Steelers cookies? They could be in the shape of a helmet or football. (I found this cute example here.) That way, if all of your guests aren’t exactly fans, they’ll still appreciate the yummy favor. :o)

This company makes "Terrible Towel" shaped chocolate bars:
Also, I’ve always felt for a true fan a Terrible Towel send off would be awesome!

Ok. I saw this at work and couldn’t log in. but I think a custom terrible towel would be one of the coolest wedding favors ever! I found a site that did custom rally towels for about $1.50 with an order of 100. But now I can’t find the site!!

If your getting married in Philly, how many eagle fans are you going to make mad? LOL! I think something edible is the best way to go, that way all the eagle fans feel like they can chew the steelers up or something… 🙂
BTW I’m a steelers fan, but I went to school in philly so I know some of those people can get pretty crazy….

You could do something "classic" with a twist. How would it work to get gold jordan almonds, and tie them together with a black ribbon?
Or, what about chocolate molded into the Steeler’s logo?
I have a reason behind my suggestions. I am from Pittsburgh, but not a big sports fan. If someone gave me a Steeler’s magnet at the wedding reception, I would probably leave it on the table. I just wouldn’t have anything to do with it! 🙂
Candy is always a safe way to go. Yes, it may not be the healthiest option, but everyone likes food. I know you might think its not as original as the magnets are, but more guests would probably appreciate candy over Steeler paraphenalia.
Sorry, I hope this didn’t come off the wrong way. 🙂 I know we all have different tastes and interests!

I am thinking of ordering the black and gold smiley cookies, a pittsburgh tradition and terrible towels or koozies for the guys. I could not find those steelers cookies above! Do you know where to get those? There would be no way I can make them and make them look that good!

Sorry, I was in a rush in a my pp. The link is smileycookie.com, they ship anywhere and I spoke with them and bake them fresh when you order and advised I order close to my wedding. My Fiance and I are huge, huge Steelers fans and being from Ohio we get a lot of flack, but everyone knows when its football season, game on! So even though my theme is different than the black and gold, it is hard for me not to put a little Pittsbugh in there! Plus it will be a big laugh and his family is big Steelers fans too and there will be some Browns folks there so it will all be in fun! Heck even the President ordered these cookies for when they came to the white house a short while back.

My friend did a steelers football themed wedding. They had the wedding invitations that looked like tickets to a steelers game. She bought a black and yellow garter that they stretched around a football for the garter toss. Cufflinks and boutonieres made with football leather for the groomsman. Terrible Towels were also made for the guests to wave during the ceremony and at the reception hall. To find suppliers she just googled everything but she said to be specific, like “custom printed terrible towels”.
