Type Target registry into the search box here and you will hear some horror stories! As a guest, it is also my least favorite place to buy wedding gifts. However, it does seem like you want an inexpensive, easy-to-access registry – have you considered Amazon Universal, or are you looking for an in-store option? Maybe Macy’s or Kohl’s would work? I think the bridal shower registry is a good idea – just put a few things on it and take it off your website or however you are telling people after the shower.

People will buy mostly from where it’s convenient for them to shop. We had a C+B registry and a Macy’s registry, and people bought up the Macy’s registry FAST (and then complained that we didn’t have anything left on our registry) before anyone bothered with the C+B one.

So I’d say, if you want gifts from Crate and Barrel, register at Crate and Barrel (keep in mind that C+B almost never has sales or discounts on shipping, and that will lead some people to avoid the registry–I’d rather put an extra $15 towards a gift than towards shipping). Register for as much as you might want so that you give people a lot of choices. But don’t pick a second place if you don’t want anything there (and if you do, you might as well go for it :).

Would BBB be a viable second registry option for you guys? I know Target’s wedding registries seem to have a lot of problems…
