- Wedding: November 2012
Hi Bees, total newbie here
Fiance and I are planning/hoping on having a budget wedding ($7-9K) seeing as we’ll be paying for our wedding. Any help we may receive from either sets of parents will be welcome but not something we want to count on.
Now on to my venue dilemma. I found ONE venue that took my breath away in more than one way, even Fiance loved it, and as I requested info. I felt as if the wind was knocked out of me by sticker shock. Their info stated that we receive an hour rehearsal time for the day before, 3 hours actual ceremony day and all for the lovely price of $2,500. (1/3 of budget!) Oh and there’s a $100 security charge AND $50 attendant fee per 50 attendees. (We’re planning on around 100) Yet I feel like we could’ve made it work if it wasn’t for the real kicker of the $2,500 having to be paid in full at time of booking and being entirely un-refundable. Fiance is willing to do it but I just can’t justify paying that portion of our budget all at once seeing as there’s still a lot left to book and make deposits on. Unfortunately I can’t keep my mind off of this venue and everthing I see no matter how lovely can trump this “dream wedding” spot.
What would you guys do?? Any input or comments would be sooo very much appreciated.
By The Way: Venue is called Chapel at Glassy Mountain I couldn’t pick a picture to do this place justice.
